GIVING BACK - COMMUNITY SERVICE

  • Brookland Park Community Gardens

    Due to the tireless efforts of community members and the leadership of the school’s neighbor, Karen Link, the community gardens is thriving. We miss seeing students in the garden and are seeking students for both leadership and working opportunities. Adult volunteers encouraged to help on garden work days as well.   • Nonprofit Office Support

    Opportunities are available to RCHS students to help the nonprofit in the following roles:

    Marketing - Design media for fundraising campaigns and public announcements.

    Social Media - Manage postings and cross postings to support public outreach and fund development for RCHS.

    Event Planning - Help with social events for Alumni, fundraising, and school events.

    Administrative Support - Help with a variety of tasks necessary to help the nonprofit. A great learning opportunity for someone interested in nonprofit management

  • Lead the Mindfulness Movement

    Mindfulness practice takes a variety of forms and we are hoping to start a cultural movement at RCHS to help students learn to incorporate the practice into their lives.

    Seeking Student Leaders - Students interested will go through a certification process and help run programming in the schools new Mindfulness Center. Students will run mindfulness “sits” , stretching, and yoga before school, at lunch, or after school and introduce the program during family time.
